Ageless Beauty: Sophia Loren Named Most Naturally Beautiful Person at 71

Learn from Sophia Loren, and develop your own secrets for natural beauty
About a month before her 72nd birthday, Sophia Loren was voted the world’s most naturally beautiful person, eclipsing younger beauties such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Sophia Loren also beat out male contenders such as actors Johnny Depp and George Clooney, who placed second in the online poll of 1,578 people. The poll was sponsored in 2006 by The Dare To Be Bare Awards, which are given to celebrities who do not conform to stereotypes.
Sophia Loren's Secrets for Ageless, Natural BeautyAsked to share her secrets, Sophia Loren attributed her natural beauty to “a love of life, spaghetti, and the odd bath in virgin olive oil.” The practice of bathing in olive oil dates back to her Roman ancestors.
Sophia Loren has never had plastic surgery.
Early in her career, she was urged to have her nose done, but she declined, and she has continued to reject the notion that women must mold themselves to fit some unnatural ideal of beauty.
Should Sophia Loren be Cloned?Respondents to the online poll are not the only ones who recognize Sophia Loren’s extraordinary beauty. The Archbishop of Genoa once said that although the Vatican opposed human cloning, “an exception might be made in the case of Sophia Loren.”
And lest you think these high opinions of Sophia Loren’s natural beauty are more nostalgia for the woman she was than praise for the women she is, it is worth noting that before the online poll Loren was already scheduled to appear in the world-famous Pirelli calendar for 2007.
You may not have quite as many natural attributes to work with as Sophia Loren. Who does? Still, there are many things you can do to enhance your own natural beauty throughout your life.
